This weekend I learn a reasonably nice submit by Max Roser. It’s a considerate, and insightful description of this graphic that Max made:
As I learn the submit and stared on the map, I stored eager about the entire totally different tales that this knowledge tells. It talks about fairness, about illustration, about sharing. This graphic reveals the reader so many issues {that a} listing of numbers merely can’t.
In Ontario, one of many areas of focus for our Math Curriculum – or as we name them, strands – is Knowledge Administration and Chance. It’s part of the curriculum as a result of, we’re surrounded by knowledge; college students must discover ways to interpret and perceive that info:
When knowledge is represented in methods like Max’s map, it’s far simpler for college students to see the entire tales that the numbers can inform them. As I mirror to some Knowledge Administration work that I’ve completed with my college students, I’m wondering if it will have helped the youngsters to first, visualize what the numbers are telling them via diagrams and sketchnotes like this map.
Thanks Max for the highly effective provocation!
